Future Sailors

Sorry this has taken forever. The font and structure is all skrewed-up, Its a goodie though.
If you see this:
* : it means defiantly download, its pure genius

* SAMUEL AND THE DRAGON + KY Ü

this might not be everyone's cup of tea... but its mine, and it sick.
So these two bands are completely different yet so similar.
Samuel and the Dragon is a London male duo while Kyu are a Sydney based female duo.
opposite?
However, they are both duo's and both make some pretty wacky, but pretty awesome music.
. These tracks are really catchy in a really uncatchy way. that makes no sense. but you'll get what i mean when you start playing them . Give them a chance. They're seriously cool.
Diamonds on a boat is a dark electronic love Ballard, while Kyu's Sunny in splodges is hard to define, its got xylophone, drums, organ, howls and something i've never seen in any other Auzzie bands. Finally i've found an Australian band i really like.

MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS
Finally her debut "family jewels" is due February 15, cant wait, i expect big things. Here's her next single "Hollywood". Its catchy, witty, funny and puking American dreams..
Hollywood
FACTORY FLOOR
Joy division? Close. Dark hypnotic layered guitars on haunting vocals. Think Horrors with Joy Div.
Taxidermist

*I BLAME COCO
I blame coco is the solo project by Coco Sumner. I recently/yesterday stumbled across her and am completely obsessed with her songs. She's not the usual perfect voice photographic type. She's 19,husky sexy voice, indie, supposedly dated pete doherty and johnny borrell, all despite being the daughter of Sting. She's written each song and played every instrument on her album. Her music is a cross between Jamaican lullabies and babyshambles, thats how i'd best describe it.
Listen and learn.

I blame coco

SIA
This song has been in my head all week.
You've changed

ESBEN AND THE WITCH
Everyones raving about these, guys.. not gunna lie but i'm not such a fan. Their music is seriously cool, but i just find the lyrics lame and pretentious. kinda ruins it. But their Ep 33 is good, its worth the download. "About this peninsula" and "Marching Song" are the best. But he's a newbie i like more than the rest..
Lucia at the Precipice

BEACH HOUSE
- 3rd album "Teen Dream" released Australia day,
- American dream pop duo
echo-y vocals, organs and catchy harmonic panting(?)
i like this, but am not a mega fan, its cool but.
Download "Used to be" from their last album too.

DAISY DARES YOU
At just 16 Daisy Coburn has already released two singles, one featuring chipmunk and is on her way to completing her album, out some time this year. Citing inspirations such as, Kurt kobain,The Big Pink, Alison Mosshart, you'd think her songs would be more indie based rather than girly pop anthems... nope wrong, they are girly and poppy, yet the's one which isnt as bad. The eponymous "daisy dares you" track is kinda cool, catchy and relates to other genres. I think she's gunna be big money this year. she also writes her own songs, rarity these days.
Daisy Dares You:

SALEM
this dark trio, signed by merok(aka, Big pink, Comanechi, Telepathy) have caught the eye of many, with their ominous howling and seductive synths... take a listen, its worth it.

hese guys have been one of my favorite bands for ages now, I've blogged about this band before, and i recently discovered an unreleased demo, which just reminded me of the fucking genius they are. Their debut album comes out on april the 5th 2010. the force is strong here.
You've Had Band (Demo)

M.I.A
Mission.Impossible.Area, the 3rd album of M.I.A due to be released summer 2010, already has a track leaked. "There's Space for OL Dat I See" is supposedly a comment on Sri Lankas post-war situation, and how people have turned a blind eye to this destruction. heavvy.
There's Space for OL Dat I See

Micachu & The Remixes.

MICA LEVI.

Have blogged about her debut album 'Jewellery' before. A part time classical composer, creator of new wacky instruments and highly acclaimed by thousands of artists. In summary she is a musical genius creating indie pop with a twist.

--> stumbled across some of her songs i'd never heard before, as they were only featured on the promo of "Jewellery". I love them though i cant believe they weren't on the final album.
As much as I don't really like remixes these two Micachu related one's are incredible. The first being a remix by my new favorite "We Have Band" and the second, a remix by Micachu. Enjoy and appreciate, hopefully this will get Shakira out of you head.

WE HAVE BAND

WE HAVE BAND. give me some indie!

DARREN BANCROFT:
Vocals/Drums/Percussion/Sampler
DEDE WP: Vocals/Percussion/Sampler.
THOMAS WP: Vocals/Guitar/Bas
s/Programming.
( last two are married).
- London, England .
- Formed after meeting in the london offices of EMI.
- Debut album is currently being recored.
- They describe them selves as a 'disco rock trio' yet i think they fit a " indie dubstep jumble of noises'.
- First heard about them a year ago with their demo of "you cam out". Didn't really grip me though. It was the single OH! which really got me.
- Their music video's are incredible. Really wacky though.
- Their remix's are even better.
- All three equally create the music with Darren primarily on percussion, Dede on sampler and Thomas on guitar. All three sing too.
- This band is my favorite at the moment.
Their tracks are pure indie genius. Each structured differently with wierd noise and synth effects, all together creating a noise you've never heard before.
